For our project, we were tasked with creating a PSA to show the affects of human impacts on our environment. To prepare for this, Ms. Lesely showed us many dramatic and sad PSA's to show us the type of impact a PSA's can have on a group of people. The PSAs were very sad and usually made us feel pretty bad about he human race, but Ms. Lesley assured us that this was all to show us the true impact of what we were doing as humans. These PSA's sparked a passion in us to create a PSA and want what is best for our world. We learned different human impacts by engaging in activities and learning about different things that are happening within our ecosystem.
Our PSA
The idea for a cooking show first came when we were in a group and we decided we wanted to focus on the human impact of microplastics and biomagnification. Doing a cooking show would perfectly combine these two topics. What was next is how we could provide our audience with a valuable experience and the comedic route of a ironic cooking show. We drew out a story board of what we orignally wanted. We threw ideas at eachother and we would revise our stroy board until we got what we thought would make an interesting cooking show. The storyboard and the actual video differed, but the final product is something I am very proud of because it provides satire and informational entertainment.
Weekly Reflections
Honors
Honors this year was very difficult but very rewarding. The work involved a lot of reading and quizzes, actually it was only reading and quizzes. The reading was tedious and sometimes incomprehensible but it was a sneak peak of what college would look like if you'd go into a biology major. For that, I am thankful for Bio Honors because if I ever have a biology class I know for a fact I'll be well prepared.
